Fullview pl0x?

First of all I'd like to apologize...
I have two things I'm currently working on -
one's a serious piece that was interrupted by this one
and the other is a group shot of characters (part of which is is in my avatar) I've been meaning to work on.
But, they were both put aside so I could do this - which was for my multimedia midterm.

I had to do this pretty fast, and I was actually surprised that I pulled it off. Although there's still lots of things I could improve on, I decided to go ahead and submit. Originally I had the picture taller with words at the top, but... I decided just to crop it down.

So, it was 5 and 1/2 class days in total...
which is pretty good for me.

But, more about the piece -
this is my brother who is 21.
The piece itself isn't really a direct reflection on him, more of just a spring board.
I didn't really do a sketch for this one.
I just jumped right in with blobs of color and a few guide lines. It was very loose at the beginning. Even now it's still un-smoothed. But it's kind of "painter-ly" that way I guess.

Maybe I should "free paint" like this more often...?

EDIT;;; Dang. I marked it as '09 but it's '10.
Still haven't gotten used to it...
